Kent Secondary School Chess Champions

Knole Academy are the Kent Junior Chess Association Secondary school grand-prix Champions for the 2016-17 season!

This is a great result for our chess players, Jacob, Mikey and Charlie and the first time that our school has performed so well in the competition.

The award and trophy is based on results from eight chess tournaments throughout the season and the points gained all contribute to the final GP tables.  Knole finished with 379.2 points, Skinners finished in second place on 297.6,  Judd in third place and St Olaves in fourth. Here are the final standards: http://www.kjca.org/GPTable/view/6

The season was incredibly enjoyable, with some quality chess being played, making it fun for all involved.

The Knole Academy chess club is held on Thursday lunchtimes in L1 (Mr Ashworth’s room). We are hoping to continue with this success and develop the club by participating in more competitions and head to head matches against other schools in the area.
